Strength and appearance
The horizontal bends in a panel give the surface a beam effect; at the same wire thickness it resists bending far better than a flat surface and reads as square and orderly. Woven mesh is flexible and follows sloping ground without stepping, but if the tension is not set correctly it sags over time, so the tightness of the line wire determines how long the system lasts.
